Lifting the old leather

Colourlock put to the test
Tired leather on your steering wheel can make a well-kept interior feel worn. Leather end tips on the center pad of the wheel often have the usual signs of decades of daily use: shiny patches, light discoloration, and a slippery feel. Time for a proper refresh! In this episode we'll deploy the full arsenal of Colourlock on one of our classic Momo four spokes.

Prep first. Magic later.
The process starts with a deep clean using the Colourlock Leather Cleaner, worked in gently with a brush to lift dirt and oils from the grain. After wiping it down, the leather already looks more matte and natural. Any remaining grease is removed with Colourlock Leather Degreaser, which helps ensure the repair products bond properly.

Next come minor repairs. Small cracks and wear areas are smoothed and prepped, then recoloured in matt black using Colourlock Leather Fresh, carefully applied in thin layers to restore an even tone without overloading the leather. Once dry, the surface looks consistent again—no more faded spots or uneven color.

To finish, the wheel is protected with Colourlock Leather Shield, adding a subtle protective layer against future wear and hand oils while keeping the leather grippy, not glossy.

Impressive
The results are Impressive. A steering wheel that once again looks factory-fresh and feels great to the touch, properly protected for everyday driving. A small touch-up that makes all the difference behind the wheel. Colourlock put to the test? Nailed it. With flying colours. 🏁
